Forcing your kid with high fever to go to school gotta be illegal bruhv
So when I was 11 years old (January of 2016. What a way to start the year), I got sick. It started pretty generic with temperature rise, stuffy nose, and a very sore throat. But my left eye started to get puffy and that is when I started facing another problem. It was just the ugly appearance and a a bit of pain there at first but in a few days, they got tightly shut and I can no longer see with it. If I forced it open it, I’d just see a whitish blur. But being half blind isn’t the worst part.
From time to time, I’d get very painful migraines. It happens so randomly during the day. I suddenly start feeling like my head is banged against a wall. I’d start sobbing loudly suddenly but my parents didn’t know what to do about it. Best they can do is just either give me paracetamol, Ibuprofen, or Codeine while I was sick. Though I remember that street lights were pretty much a trigger
But I was always the type of person to go to school no matter what unless I had a dentist appointment but I got to be absent sometimes due to sickness. Despite trying to convince my mom that I’m too ill to go, she wasn’t convinced and just sent me there anyways. I immediately got comments as soon as I took step to the classroom. Just a couple minutes on the first class and the math teacher thought I seem in a very awful state to be attending a class while having a very visibly infected eye. She just sent me to the school nurse and I slept there for the rest of the day until my parents picked me up around 12:00 PM I think.
Not only was it an embarrassment to get there looking horrendous but boy was it useless considering that I barely attended a class. What even are we getting here aside from possibly infecting other kids? I know that kids shouldn’t just get absent because they feel like not attending but damn there gotta be circumstances.
