Isaiah 7:14
Why do christians say and believe that jesus would be born of a virgin? And that this is some sort of fulfilled prophecy and a sign of a god. The hebrew clearly uses almah which is a young girl. The proper would be betulah and this is mentioned elsewhere as virgin. Rebekah is said to be betulah not almah for 1 example.
Matthew also couldn't read hebrew, he used the septuagint which was greek.. However in both the original hebrew and Greek it doesnt say virgin. But Matthew goes off and blatantly lies. Matthew uses Isaiah 7:14 as proof.
This was also a prophecy given to king Ahaz as a sign of the invading kings leaving. The young girl in this was already pregnant.
So my questions are why do you lie to yourself if you know you're going to hell for your lies? Do you just immediately ask for forgiveness or whatever you do?
Do any christians actually study the original texts or just use the translation of a translation of an interpretation of king?
Is it more for the comfort and not the actual truth?
Why would such a powerful god make the guidebook so ambiguous and full of lies?
I know that's a lot of questions but it's just 1 example out of probably 36,008 blatant lies in this book.
Thank you
