Is there a more permanent medical procedure for nosebleeds than cauterization?
Hello all,
I have had really bad nosebleeds for over a decade now. Even using a humidifier and spraying my nose with a saline spray and using Aquaphor and other lubricants to keep my nose from being dying, I still get them almost daily during the winter/spring/fall months. Part of why they’re so bad for me is that I take aspirin for a heart condition I have so my blood is thinner, but it’s still an almost daily issue for much of the year, and is always from the same nostril. I have twice had my nose cauterized, which has been a good temporary solution, but the problem ends up returning after a while (and not to mention, cauterization is an extremely uncomfortable procedure).
Do any medical professionals here know if there is a more permanent solution for frequent nosebleeds in one specific nostril? Since cauterization involves “sealing” the ruptured blood vessel, is there any sort of operation that could remove or repair it altogether? I really don’t want to have to continually get my nose cauterized just to keep this issue at bay.
