Any OG Kendrick fans? If so, do you still consume his music heavily?

This isn’t a troll post or anything hateful. I love music and was wondering if anyone else could relate

I first heard Kendrick around 2007. Was a Jay rock fan because of Wayne. I thought black hippie was cool

Overly dedicated came out my freshman year. You won’t believe it, but I was playing 2K with my roommate he said “Kendrick is going to be the best rapper ever. I can just see it man. It’s something about him”

Anyway. I became obsessed with his music …section 80 came out. Got it off Datpiff…. listened to Kendrick Lamar ep heavily.

Every Kendrick project from Kendrick Lamar EP-TPAB are in my personal top 25 favorite album/mixtapes of all time. that said, I haven’t liked a single album since TPAB

Before I continue, let me say that I love artist diversity. ….For the most part….i was a Kanye fan when he was doing “classical rap” on the prerequisite (mixtape that came out before college dropout). and he completely changed his style by the time he got to 808 and heartbreak. And I love 808 and his old classical style.

Same for 2pac. He was my first goat. I initially only heard his conscious music but I really appreciate and enjoy his aggressive thug life persona just as much

But Kendrick….i haven’t been able to appreciate a single album since TPAB. And a lot of it has to do with his delivery, beat selection, cadence, snd subject matter. I’m not saying they are not good. But the musical style that I originally loved, I don’t hear from him as much.

I say all that to say, if you were listening to Kendrick around 2009, did you notice a stylistic change after TPAB? If so, were you a fan of it and how did it effect your opinion of his goat status?

Personally, I think he is number two all time and has the two best rap albums ever. He my third favorite ever. Just wish I liked his recent albums
