How old do you think you should be when you start converting?

Discussion 💬

I’m currently 27 (28 in April) and have wanted to convert to Judaism since I was 15 (2013) but I need to sort through big things in my life before that on a personal matter and I don’t know how long that will be. I’m hoping 3 years at most, 2 at least. However, when that’s done, I feel like I want to actually do it. Learn as much as I can about it, the values, the different types of Judaism (Orthodox, Reform, Reconstructionist and Conservative) before speaking to a Rabbi about it and going from there.

At that time, I’ll be 30 or 31. Is that too late or does age of conversion not matter? Just curious and want to know of any advice from the Jewish community.
