Anyone else find that impact movement is painless compared to isometric/weight-training?
I am 6 months post-op and cannot single-leg squat without pain. I believe it's the pain, over quad strength, that is the limiting factor in isometric or strength training exercises. It's not horrendous pain, but it's definitely there and will be sore after these movements. My physiotherapist has removed exercises that would illicit pain and has reduced range/weight for others due to this. Recently, we've incorporated impact movements like skipping and jumping. These are pain-free. Despite the single-leg squat being a milestone needed for these movements, they are fine while it is not. This is deeply frustrating and I don't know how to overcome it. I've almost resigned myself to always feeling pain with these movements. Is anyone else experiencing something similar? Has it improved over time?
