Is there a limit to how many medallions you can get from one game?

Sometimes I’ll go on a spree of, say, tile towers, a game that I know the threshold of getting medallion is get to level two and do a somewhat decent job on level 2. Yesterday, the first time I had done it in a while, I got a medallion each time I got over that threshold.

But today, I’ve gotten over that threshold three times and I’ve gotten zero medallions.

However, when I switched over to stack em up solitaire, which the threshold for a medallion is 4000 points, the first time I passed that score I got a medallion.

This isn’t the first time I’ve noticed this pattern, although I can’t seem to figure out what causes it and why it happens, and how long it “blocks” you from getting medallions from a game. Or if this is a glitch or an intentional thing. Does this happen to anyone else?
