If you are going to Oman

Tips for anyone heading to Muscat soon:

  1. Honestly, check Google for the latest reviews on hotels before you book; some places are underrated but actually great.

  2. The border can be a bit slow, so definitely check the traffic updates on local groups before you head out.

  3. Make sure to book your hotel at least a few days early, especially with the current rush.

  4. If you’re not bringing your own car, better to rent one online in advance rather than waiting until you arrive.

  5. Use Google Maps to find the "hidden gems" for food on the way; don't just stick to the main road.

  6. If you're tired from the wait at the border, it's much safer to find someone to drive you to Muscat so you can just chill.

  7. Pro tip: Don't leave your car at the airport parking for long trips; the daily rates are insane. It’s way better to find a private parking spot or someone to look after it in the city.

  8. Grab a local SIM card at the first stop after the border; the roaming charges will kill your battery and your wallet.

  9. Always keep some cash (Omani Rials) on you; some of the best small cafes don't take cards.

  10. Don't rush the drive. If you're feeling exhausted after the border, take a break or find a ride. It’s a long road!
