Dedicated home assistant machine or VM

I’m getting into self hosting and have a pc running proxmox with a couple VMs. Now I’m wanting to get Home Assistant up and running. My question is how should I go about running it because I do have an extra pc that’s not being used that I thought about making a dedicated Home Assistant machine. My goal is to eventually have cameras that would save video locally to that dedicated machine to an hdd installed in it. Is that my best choice or should I just run it inside proxmox?
