Big Update on Rent payment by Credit Cards ( Red Giraffe) Good News Inside !!!!
RedGirraffe is updating its card payment system to comply with new RBI regulations on high-value recurring transactions (rent, society fees, education payments). This is affecting which cards currently work on the platform.
Current Situation
- Only Axis Bank credit cards are fully operational right now
- Other banks are being onboarded one by one — expected to be complete across 6 major banks by March 2026
What You Need to Do (Based on Your Situation)
| Your Situation | Action Required |
|---|---|
| Have an Axis Bank card | Switch to it via Edit Records on your dashboard |
| February rent already paid via card | Nothing — it will process normally |
| February rent paid directly outside platform | Update due date to March via Edit Records |
| Using a non-Axis card | Pay rent directly for now and wait for your bank to go live |
How to Switch to Axis Bank Card Login → Edit Records → Edit your RG ID → Select Axis Bank → Submit → Click Pay when the button appears
Fee Structure (Axis Bank)
- Rent: 0.48% (incl. GST) + 1% bank charge separately
- Society maintenance & education fees: 1.48% (all-inclusive)
- Additional processing fee applies to all transactions
Bottom line: If your February payment is already settled, no action needed. If you have an Axis Bank card, switch to it now to avoid disruption. Everyone else will need to pay rent directly until their bank is compliant. But other big banks will come back onboard by end of March 2026. Fingers Crossed !!!
