As a student buying my first car, is a 2016 Mini Countryman S reliable and affordable to maintain long term?

Hey! I’m an international student in the U.S. and this would be my first car. I’m looking at a 2016 Mini Cooper Countryman S (R60, 1.6L turbo N18) with about 45k miles for around $13k.

From your experience, how reliable is this model long term? What major maintenance issues should I realistically expect (timing chain, water pump, carbon buildup, etc.) and how expensive are they in the U.S.?

Since I’m on a student budget, I just want to make sure I’m not walking into something that’ll drain me financially. Anything specific I should inspect or ask the dealer before buying?

Would really appreciate your honest advice 🙏
