Part of me wonders if RGG is *intentionally* writing the Daidoji to be incredibly incompetent.

Like, the Daidoji *think* they’re these super cool, MGS Patriots-level shadow organization, and they clearly present themselves that way, but they keep getting so high off their own self-importance that they just bungle around constantly getting their shit rocked, revealing they really are just another group of bureaucratic idiots who think they’re smarter than they actually are.

Which, ironically, actually makes them more dangerous. Because it means they’ll just keep doubling down on their incredibly stupid, self-destructive policies that get people hurt, or worse. Which… is actually really topically relevant right now, sad as it is to say.

Just saying, Yakuza games in the past have had a precedent for the ‘bureaucratic idiot’ type villain, and they’ve never shied away from showing how much positional power can still be dangerous, even if it’s in the hands of a moron.

Maybe the Daidoji are supposed to be the ultimate version of that idiot?
