At what point did you realize spreadsheets were no longer enough for running your business?

In the early days, spreadsheets feel perfect.
Everything is simple, flexible, and quick.

But at some point things start breaking:

  • follow-ups get missed
  • information lives in different sheets
  • nobody knows the real status of deals or customers

I’ve noticed a lot of small businesses hit this phase where the “scrappy system” stops working but enterprise tools feel like overkill.

For those who’ve been through it — what was the moment you realized you needed something more structured?

Was it lost deals, messy communication, scaling the team, or something else?

Curious what the turning point looked like for others.
