deck or concrete for a slightly uneven yard?

SpoilerQuestion

Hey everyone, I currently have an older paver patio that’s starting to look rough, and I’m thinking about replacing it. I’m deciding between building a small deck or pouring a concrete patio. This will be a DIY project since my budget is limited.

To get a rough idea of costs, I’ve been comparing materials across different online marketplaces and platforms that sell building supplies. I looked through places like Amazon, eBay, Facebook Marketplace, Alibaba, and similar sites where people sell tools, lumber, hardware, and construction materials. I’ll probably end up buying locally to avoid shipping delays, but browsing these marketplaces helped me understand the general price range for materials.

From what I’ve seen so far, concrete patios seem to come out cheaper overall. The only issue is that my yard isn’t perfectly level, which makes me wonder if a deck might actually be the better option structurally.

For those who’ve replaced old pavers before, what would you recommend in a situation like this? Would you go with concrete and level the base, or build a simple deck instead?

Appreciate any advice or experiences.
