Is it allowed to ask for help?

I posted looking for advice on finding a small office space for my business. Either word of mouth or someone has or knows someone with a space. May I ask why this violated terms for “self promotion”? I didn’t even list a business name or anything…because the business doesn’t exist yet. Thank you?
