Killer behavior

Yesterday I played a game as a survivor. The team was not the best tbh (me included) and the killer was really good. He hooked all four at least one time before we even finished one gen, some even twice. I was down the second time. He didn’t hook me but just went away. Didn’t see him after that again. He didn’t do anything anymore. No hunting, no hooking, nothing. He als didn’t leave the game. It was around 9pm.

Question to all the good killers out there. Why did this happen? Was he just bored? Did he try to make it more interesting? Was it a 12 year old that had to go to bed? Behavior like this confuses me.
