High lipase milk - what worked for you??

My baby is 5 weeks old - my supply has been good!

I ran a few experiments with my frozen milk. I was previously waiting about 2-3 days to freeze and then thawing slowly in the fridge.

Baby took 1 thawed bottle fine at about 1 week old, but the next time I tried I definitely noticed the hallmark soapy, metallic smell and taste for high lipase milk. He tried it but threw up terribly. My husband and I also tried it and it was yucky.

I tried the 1/3 frozen to fresh method but the thawed milk was still really gross.

I would be surprised if the vanilla trick was strong enough to combat how gross the milk was, but I haven’t tried it.

I just did my morning pump and immediately froze my milk. Hoping this works.
