SCAM! Renting Dublin

Hi everyone! I just wanted to share something to make you aware of potential scams.

Over the past few weeks, I applied for several rooms in shared apartments on Daft.ie. Today I received an email from someone named “Caitlin” saying she had a free room in a shared apartment with another girl. However, the message was sent directly to my email rather than through the Daft platform.

She suggested we talk on Microsoft Teams. When I joined the call, there was a video of a woman that was clearly lagging and looked fake or pre-recorded. When I ended the call, she said she was having technical issues and suggested we continue over chat instead. When I asked where she had gotten my email address, she stopped responding.

How did this person even get my email??? I just lost all my motivation to search for a place…..

BE CAREFUL!!
