Recently had a woman go dark on me, advice please?

So, I recently reconnected with an old friend after about 8 years, we met on Hinge, started talking for a few weeks, went on a few dates.

She seemed to want things to move very quickly, talking about moving in, wanted me to meet her parents, etc; I made it clear that I wanted to move slowly as I've had a bad year so far (granddad passing away, loss of a close friend due to a falling-out), and I don't have the emotional energy for commitment at the moment.

She got admitted to hospital with a recurring problem - and I left work early to go and check on her, brought her some flowers and fed her dog at home.

Three days later, I got a message saying "I can't do this if we're not on the same wavelength and you're not going to communicate."

She's blocked me on all social media, and even told her best friend that I've been ignoring her, so I received a nasty set of messages from him as a result.

I probably didn't commit fully and with as much enthusiasm as I normally would, but I was honest from the start - I've just been left feeling guilty as I hate confrontation.
