Pet woes
Pretty unproductive thread, i know, but i have to let it out somewhere
5 months ago my family got a new cat. Being the second one, we had to keep her apart from the resident furball king of the house for a while
So, it ended turning into "she'll sleep in your room" and the thing has stuck after the initial period.
Fine.
Problem is, i have a lot of open air display figures. I know what you want to type here, but currently there's no alternative.
In 3 years and a half, i managed to keep our other cat away from mostly everything (he did slightly damage a PopUp Parade once and that was it) but that included not letting him roam unsupervised in the room at night...
Now, since september the new beast has
- Broken pieces of https://myfigurecollection.net/item/1834260 (snapped the banner ribbons in half, and looks like the inks used for the shading melted away where she bit...)
- Broken the tips of my https://myfigurecollection.net/item/1849532 staff
- Gnawed on the sash of https://myfigurecollection.net/item/604030
- Same as above with the small plant on https://myfigurecollection.net/item/1849500 desk, with addition of breaking some of the leaves
- Broken off the top part of one of the lances on https://myfigurecollection.net/item/1326004 (actually she hit the same piece twice, first breaking one of the pegs holding it and then doing this)
- Done multiple passes at the popup parades (luckily with no lasting damage, that i could see at least, so far)
- Don't know how but she broke off some of the "seagulls" from https://myfigurecollection.net/item/740226 dress (i still have to understand which piece), luckily only 2 but still..
- Apparently she also really want to bite the barrel of https://myfigurecollection.net/item/61366 weapon, but being in a slightly harder to reach place i've managed to always stop her, so far
The especially annoying thing is that while the old cat used to pick up parts that weren't glued to the figure, carry them around and not much more than that, the little one also bites hard into things, so even the parts that she doesn't outright break end being visibly damaged
I'm locked in an arms race of trying to make it hard for her to get to things and every time she finds a way to do more damage the frustration grows
Obviously i love the little beast so it's not like i can banish her from the room 24/24 or something but still the situation is truly bothering
