Has any NRI successfully renewed/re-issued an Indian International Driving Permit (IDP) while living abroad via consulate + Parivahan?

Hey guys,

Has Anyone who's an NRI or lived outside India for a while successfully renewed or re-issued their Indian International Driving Permit (IDP) without coming back to India?

I see many Indian consulate/embassy websites mention a process where you go to the Indian consulate/Embassy, pay a fee, get a receipt or verification letter, then upload it on the Parivahan site to apply for a fresh IDP and have it couriered to your foreign address.

Just wondering if anyone has actually done this successfully in the last few years? Like, did the consulate give you the receipt? Did Parivahan accept it? How long did it take, any issues with staff or documents?
