Poor Ambrane customer support - am I the only one?
I ordered a 100W charger and 3 cables (2 x Type C-C, 1 x Type A-C) 6 months ago and I noticed that the cables while connected to the charger were discharging when touched on the other end. When I plugged these cables into my laptop, I can't touch my laptop when I'm grounded, otherwise I get mild shocks.
A couple of weeks ago, one of the cables died, and I thought maybe that was a bad one, and I only used the other one, but after that, the remaining 2 cables also died. When I reached out to support, they told me to ship the items to Delhi and that they'd only cover 50 rupees of it.
After sending it and waiting a couple of days, they emailed and said that the charger is ok and they'd only give back a new cable as that's clearly damaged. Today they called and said that the static discharge from the cable is normal and that getting mild shocks when touching a charging laptop happens with every charger. WTF! Do these people think that the customers are dumb idiots who can't tell when a product is clearly malfunctioning?
I asked for extended warranty assurance, but they said that any further issue would be chargeable, even though I raised the original issue before my warranty expired and they said that "they looked into it" and didn't find any issue. Is this an universal experience with Ambrane support?
