Khmer public school “fees”

Hello all, I’m a foreigner and sponsoring some local children. I’m trying to understand what “fees” are required to attend a local Khmer school for a Grade 7.

I heard most schools/teachers collect some fees to boost their earnings? What is an acceptable or normal amount? Thank you
