In your opinion, how many years are left before we see collapse of the current western civilization?

Predictions

Yesterday I argued about this with some friends and family members, and they basically think that at least Europe and the US will always survive in roughly its current state as long as theres no nuclear war. Arguments against climate change induced crop failures were for example that "it can be farmed in glasshouses" and the heat is also irrelevant because "africans and indians also work and live in those conditions". They didnt even say that they dont believe in the climate science, they just don't care and think it will be fine for us. This is insane to me.

What is your opinion how much longer the current quality of life will be sustained in the US and Europe? I would argue that many people are already impoverished and on their mental limits, but on the other hand I seem to be in the absolute minority still with 90 % of people I know being carefree and happy and the government institutions still somewhat function (also debatable). I expect that the average person will realize how dire the situation really is by 2036, I think then the catastrophes and wars over ressources will be so widespread that really no one can just close their eyes except very wealthy people.

Sometimes I really wish I would have never become interested in all this tbh, it is really depressing. But I can't change my personality, when I read about an important topic I reserch very much.
