iPhone to Pixel data transfer

Hubby is transferring from an SE 2020 to a certified refurbished Pixel 6.

I actually bought the 6 for myself several years ago and never transferred from my 3a so he's inheriting the 6 and I'm switching from the 3a to a certified refurb 9a.

I've read that data transfer between iPhones and Android can be problematic. He doesn't have any extra apps and no messaging history so there's only photos and a short contact list to transfer.

I've also read that using a cable for the transfer is more dependable than a wireless transfer so it sounds like that's the way to go.

Any input from iPhone to Android/Pixel users is appreciated.
