ovarian cancer concerns
my entire story started 5 years ago, I was sitting one day and felt my heart beating really fast out of nowhere, immediately went to the ER, they calmed my 200 bpm heart down but life was never the same after it. they gave me metoprolol to manage it. the tachycardia and blood pressure changes were severe, any activity i go i’m dizzy or feel bad just standing. I slowly became bed ridden. through the years i went through weight changes so when there was a huge bulge in my left side i swiftly ignored it. it’s just bloating right? even with bowel habit changes?
skip to January this year, i did an ultrasound because they were suspecting IBS or sth, surprise!! it’s a singular balloon looking thing, a huge 30 cm complex cystic mass with vascular activity, and (tiny small scattered ascites.) extending from possibly ovaries to pelvis to abdomen, left side to middle.
had to go to the ER for low haemoglobin initially and there, things escalated to somehow me getting mri and ct scans of the mass. CA 125 marker is extremely elevated 7000. CT scan of abdomen and Pelvis showed the same results, and Mri of pelvis also confirmed it. they also drained large amounts of pleural fluid in my left cavity 1.5 liter, report says yellow and clear, but no cytology yet on that.
what’s interesting so far is that they didn’t mention any
•omental caking
• peritoneal nodules
• bowel implants
• enlarged lymph nodes
in my MRI/ CT reports. so nothing that says “spread” in an obvious sense, wouldn’t they mention it if it was that advanced?
and can the pleural fluid be reactive? non malignant? If so, would the size of my mass alone justify the 7000 marker on its own?
I have so many questions and no answers, i’m scheduled for surgery this Tuesday for proper exploration / debulking / removal of whatever they deem necessary/ staging etc.
I think what I am asking is, if this was truly advanced, wouldn’t there be more clues? can’t the lung fluid just be reactive since my mass is huge?
