How much should I expect to actually end up spending?

I'm currently debating between buying a CZ scorpion (mostly because I adore CZ pistols) or a FM-9. I was leaning scorpion until I learned of the soft bolt issue.

Seems like most people who buy a scorpion upgrade the grip, trigger, and bolt. All combined that's like, 500$+ which almost costs as much as a used scorpion.

It seems like the bolt is almost non-negotiable if you want to shoot it a lot. I can put up with a shitty trigger (shoot double action all the time) and grip, but a safety and reliability item seems mandatory. This makes the minimum investment on a scorpion ~1200$, up to 1600$ depending on the prices I can find.

The FM-9 (currently on sale) is a bit uglier but can be had at 600$ ish, and not really need any modifications to make it work well.

How much should I expect to invest in a scorpion, and how durable are they in reality? Whatever PCC I buy will end up being the only one I can buy for the foreseeable future.
