Consultation vs full time employment
Hi looking for a bit of advice. I am currently employed working full time in a senior management position. I live in Canada and have full benefits with my office. Up to 5%rrsp matching. All very standard for my industry. My job is fine, not a place where I am thinking of spending the rest of my career but as a stopgap it’s pretty good. I recently got approached by a recruiter for a consulting position with the government. The position has less hours (30vs40) more pay ($74 vs $90)but without benefits they said it’s a one year contract but there is the option to extend for an additional 2 years . I have 3 kids, 2 are in high school and one is in grade school . Single parents and my ex doesn’t have insurance.don’t really know if it’s the right move right now. It’s very hard to get a government position and this could lead to full time employment . Any advice I would welcome especially about entering consultancy
