I'm a solo IT student building my first app — here's what I'm making and why
I'm 100% self taught, I only know Python and C, and I have 30 minutes a day to build this.
But I have an idea I can't stop thinking about.
Every productivity app I've tried feels soulless. Just checkboxes. No reason to care.
Yes I know Habitica exists. But Habitica is a RPG game with habits on the side.
VOIDRISE is different.
It's not a game. It's not a cute pixel RPG.
It's a system. Inspired by anime like Solo Leveling and Arifureta — where the protagonist wakes up, opens their status window, and attacks the day with everything they have.
That cold, clean, serious energy. That's what VOIDRISE feels like.
The core loop:
⚔️ You create a character with a class (Scholar, Warrior, Artist)
📊 Your daily habits build your real stats — STR, INT, VIT
✅ Complete quests = earn XP, level up your character
🔥 Break your streak = your stats decay
💀 The system doesn't wait. Neither should you.
No cute graphics. No random monsters to fight.
Just you, your system, and your real life.
Stack: Python + Flask + SQLite + HTML/CSS
Status: Pre-MVP, validating the idea right now
Timeline: 4 months to first working version
I'm posting here because I want honest feedback from people who actually build things.
Is the idea solid? What would you do differently? What's the first feature you'd cut?
And if you'd want to beta test when it's ready — drop VOID in the comments.
From the void, you rise.
