Yesterday early in the morning our Daisy girl left us at the age of 18. She went quickly and peacefully in the night.

In the past year she bravely battled diabetes, pancreatitis + chronic triaditis, and kidney disease. Despite it all, she still loved life and had far more good days than bad days. She was full toothless and went through a round of radioiodine treatment in the past as well.

She lived with us for 5 years, and those 5 years will never be close to long enough. Previously she lived with my husband’s father for close to a decade, and prior to that on the streets of Calgary before she was rescued. She came with a pallet bullet lodged under the skin of her chest.

She has survived through so much but was one of the sweetest and most loving cats that I’ve ever come across. She was fully of silliness, loved having conversations in her gremlin voice, and most of all just loved being near her people.

My heart is absolutely broken and I don’t know how I’m going to move forward without her, she enriched my life beyond what I imagined when she first moved in 5 years ago. I’m so grateful I got to be her mom for her final years and I’m proud to have cared for her during her many illnesses. She is my everything and I hope and pray that our paths will cross again in the future.
