Never done a fusion before and I don't see how this one is doable. Can anyone clear this up for me?

I've got 2000 gems, 65 ancients, 24 voids, 9 primals and 6 sacreds. Just starting out it looks like it would take over 2000 energy on level 20 just to get the rare from Ice Golem. Is it really possible to do this fusion with what I have or would I be likely to come up short. It's really hard for me to see how this would work out at this point.
