Best tiles for a small bathroom renovation in the UK?

I’m planning a small bathroom renovation and trying to decide between large tiles or smaller tiles. Some people say large tiles make the room look bigger but others say they’re harder to install. Has anyone renovated a small bathroom recently and what worked best?
