Tips on how to make reaction thumbnails look less clickbait

It seems like every thumbnail I make, no matter how big I make my face or even put a reaction in the thumbnail, I get low retention. I feel this from the viewer, thinking they are getting an original video, but then they see me reacting. I know bigger creators can get away with this, but how would a smaller creator go about this?
