Home Brew - Comprehensive Reworks: Version 8.0 has released! Introducing seven new subclasses, and the Mythic ruleset!

Original Content

Version 8.0 introduces a ton of new content that I've been working on over the past few weeks, including...

- Seven new subclasses! Home Brew now offers five completely custom subclasses for every class in the game, including Artificer! This means that since launch almost two years ago, there are now 65 entirely new subclasses for players to enjoy!

- Mythic Ruleset! Two entirely new difficulty modes, fully integrated into the main menu, and fully integrated into custom mode's options too. Mythic provides players with a significantly harder challenge than standard Home Brew, sporting three new resource mechanics that players will have to maintain in order to thrive - Exhaustion, Stress, and Toxicity. Along with this are many other changes which are designed to make the experience postively brutal. And even more will be coming over time! It's really designed for players who want an extreme challenge, so hopefully it provides that for whoever gives it a shot.

- Completely new visual effects for Phoenix Paladins, created by one of our very own Discord community members (akashenen)! Guys work is absolutely incredible, and I couldn't be happier that he's lending his talent to Home Brew. And he says more custom VFX are on the way! Huge thanks to him and his work.

The subclasses you'll find in this update include...

The Bard's College of Moriendi - a unique summoner, creating dancing skeletons to the tune of your necromantic rhythm!

The Cleric's Forge Domain - a heavy hitting brawler who brings the heat of your divine hammer down on your foes! (Originally created by Darkynho!)

The Monk's Way of the Tempered Steel - a calm killer with a scaling blade, providing Monks with their first weapon based subclass!

The Twinfang Ranger - Home Brew's first real hyprid/duo based subclass, with Reactions that allow you to work up close in tandem with your companion to deliver back to back hits!

The Radiant Bloom Sorcerer - a blend between dealing consistent damage over time and providing healing over time to your party!

The Luminal Confluence Wizard - an inspired caster who generates "Elemental Stains" when casting Spells, which can then augment their next cast in unique ways!

Or the Grenadier Artificer - who can blow shit up!

If you haven't heard of Home Brew yet, it's a massive overhaul that I've been working on for BG3 for quite a while - next month will actually be the two year mark! Super excited about that. :) I've overhauled everything in the game, every class, subclass, race, feat, Cantrip and Spell, every NPC and their AI - I really do mean literally just about everything has been rebuilt from the ground up.

The main goal of the mod is to promote as much build variety and player expression as possible, while keeping the combat as challenging and engaging as I can. Everything the player has access to - enemies do as well, including all edits, additions, subclasses, etc. Which means combat is deadly, and enemies are quick to put you down if you misplay.

Another goal was to keep things feeling "professional" - I update the mod any time someone finds even the smallest bug or typo. When you're playing Home Brew, I want it to feel like it could be its own game. And I think for the most part I've accomplished that!

But don't just take my word for it - come take a look at our Discord. We're close to 1,500 members now! It's been a super relaxing place to talk about Home Brew, BG3, DND, gaming in general. Here's an invite link for anyone who's curious. :)
