Moving to Cairo soon and finishing my B.A. in Design this month. How do I find a real remote job without falling for all these subscription scams?

Hey everyone, I’m in a bit of a transition period and could really use some honest advice. I’m officially finishing my Bachelor’s degree in Intermedia Design here in Germany this month. I’m also a certified Media Assistant.

The big plan is moving to Cairo very soon, so I’m hunting for a 100% remote position. I’ve been checking sites like Remote OK, but honestly, it’s just a jungle of paywalls and subscription traps lately. I’m looking for a real job, not another newsletter to sign up for.

I’m native in German and fluent in English. One thing to know about me: I’m high-functioning autistic. For my work, this mostly means I’m extremely fast at writing and developing complex concepts because I can focus intensely on a task for hours. I have a pretty broad range of general knowledge and I’m used to thinking strategically, whether it’s UI/UX, product design, or digital workflows. I’ve already done some internships in design and social media, so I know the drill in professional environments.

To be honest, I’m ready to do pretty much anything as long as it’s a legitimate remote position. I’m not just looking for design roles. If there’s a need for remote support, administration, or any other task where a fast, analytical thinker is needed, I’m all in. I just want to get started and I’m willing to work hard to make the move to Egypt work.

Does anyone have experience landing a remote job in the EU or US while being based in North Africa? Which platforms are actually legit for someone who wants to work for a European or Global company from abroad? I’d really appreciate any tips on companies that are actually open to this.
