Should I do a Master’s in AI before specializing in Econophysics?

Hello, I am a physics student and I would like to specialize in financial markets; I believe it is called econophysics. A professor told me that I should pursue a master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence before the master’s program I had been considering in complex systems and modeling.

Does anyone know anything about the field or have any recommendations about it?
