Will dropping out of class hinder my college future?
Hello everyone I am 17F and a senior in High school and for context my school doesn't have weighted grades and we operate on quarters. We are near the end of the end of third quarter and I have thinking I'd dropping out of AP-Macronomics because I currently have a NC (No credit). Since we only have 4 weeks left. I don't think I will get satisfactory grade because I am aiming for all A's because I have had a mediocre performance over the last 2 years. I want so badly to convince myselt that I can still turn things around, but the reality is that most of my formatives were only completed with outside help.
My assessment scores show how much I struggle to absorb the material quickly enough. In a class where we take tests so frequently, it feels unrealistic for me to keep up. I could get tutoring, but it's expensive. The cheapest option I found was $50 before tax. That's about $100 a week, or roughly $400 a month. I tried getting help for the ACT math section before, and after a few sessions, my parents were already concerned about the cost. The best tutors tend to be the most expensive, and I can't go through that situation again. I am almost done filling out everything but my mom doenst want to do it because it will enter in as a W in my transcript that will impact my opportunities in the future for scholarships and what not. But according to the college and career advisor, it's not gonna impact my future in the college I want to attend. But my mom is still unsure and we are gonna talk to counselor about it today. I guess on one hand she is right because I want to apply for scholarships and that might impact my likelihood of getting them but on the other hand I already have one NC in my transcript and a butch of D's and C's I don't think having that on my transcript will help me either but what do you think from your experience? Should I drop the class or stick with it?
