LIJ1 "Trouble In The Sky" glitch: Game won't proceed with final cutscene (Wii)

In level C-4 of Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Aventures, I am unable to finish the level in Story Mode. Every time I scare away the third flock of seagulls, my game crashes. I've tried them out of order, as well as playing as a different character, but the final cutscene won't start.

Is there any way to fix this? Is there a way to understand what triggers the glitch? I've seen a few other people on old forums having the same issue, but nothing I do works. I would hate to drive all the way to Disc Replay just to replace or refurbish this one singular game.
