Albums that you are surprised had got a bad reception

Discussion :table_flip:

There are some albums from the 80s that you'd think are classics and at least good. Though when you read how they were received critically you were surprised to see its reception not so good. For me it was Into the Gap by Thompson Twins. Smash Hits magazine gave it 2.5 out of 10 rating. Another described it as "1984's most instantly kitsch mass program of monosodium glutamation of the brain".

Granted it isn't the most grand album but it is filled with classic 80s staples like "Doctor! Doctor!", "Hold Me Now", and "Sister Of Mercy". I think the only weakest song off it was "Lift Me Up" while the others still have some nice charm to them.

What are some that you were surprised?
