Got banned from r/IndianWorkplace for being active in teen subreddits?
So I just received a 45-day ban from r/IndianWorkplace, and the reason genuinely confused me.
According to the moderators, my account was temporarily banned because I’m active in teen subreddits.
And honestly… I’m trying to understand the logic here.
I’m a teenager who is already in college. I go to college, I do internships, I try to figure out career paths, and sometimes I ask questions about work culture, internships, and career advice. That’s literally why a subreddit like IndianWorkplace exists, right?
But apparently, being active in teen communities is enough to get banned from discussing workplaces?
Are teenagers not allowed to:
• ask career advice?
• talk about internships?
• discuss workplace expectations before entering the workforce?
• share their experiences as college students?
It feels weird that instead of judging someone based on what they actually post, the decision is based on which other communities they participate in.
A lot of people in those teen subreddits are 17–19 year olds in college, exploring careers, internships, and adult life. That’s literally the phase where you need guidance the most.
I wasn’t trolling.
I wasn’t spamming.
I was just asking questions and participating in discussions.
So yeah, getting banned because of where else I comment feels a bit strange.
I guess the message is:
You can talk about work only after you magically become an adult overnight?
