AITAH for making my friend pick up her clothes?

I need to know if I'm doing too much.

My friend N (28F) came over last week to wash some clothes at my house. My other friend/roommate B (29F) and I live together, and the three of us have known each other since we were 13. We’re all close friends. However, even though we love N, she has always had a pattern of relying on us a lot. We often end up paying for her or helping her with things, and while that’s part of friendship, lately B and I have started to feel like it’s becoming too much.

Last week N came over to wash clothes. It ended up being her entire laundry, which was fine. I offered since we were all going out anyway and it would save her a trip to her mom’s house.

The first issue was that she brought no detergent. She used ours and our ironing sheets for her entire load. To be clear, I’m not trying to be a money pincher. Normally I wouldn’t care. But because this is kind of a pattern with her, it bothered me more than it usually would. She knew she should bring her own detergent, but her thought process seemed to be, “Well, they have some, so I don’t have to spend money.”

She was doing laundry until late at night, and we all ended up falling asleep downstairs. The next morning she woke up late and just left. Apparently she told B that she left a few clothes in the dryer and would come back the next day to pick them up.

That morning I went to do my own laundry and realized she didn’t leave just a few clothes. She left a whole load. It was a mix of underwear, towels, and shirts, and it was taking up a lot of space in the dryer. I didn’t want to touch her underwear, but I had to in order to use the machine. Since she took her laundry basket with her, I had to put everything in my own basket because I felt bad just dumping it somewhere.

She never came to pick it up that day. Days later, I had to text her to ask about it. She claimed she didn’t know she left any laundry, which is a lie because she told B she did. I guess she just didn’t know that I knew that.

She said she would come that day to pick it up, but she never did and never texted either. The next day I asked her again in the morning, and she said she would get changed and head over. But B and I were about to go out to eat, so we told her we would let her know when we got back.

Admittedly, we never texted her after that because we ended up having a good time, came home, and just went about our day. She also has our locations, so she could see when we were back home.

Now it has been almost two weeks and she still has not picked up her clothes.

I’m upset, but I do not know if I am being irrational. I know it is not the biggest deal in the world, but it fuels this feeling that N constantly takes advantage of us. It feels like she does not really consider how her actions affect other people.

I ended up texting her again asking about it because even though we did not text her when we got back that day, I feel like I should not have to keep reminding someone about their own clothes.

Today I kind of cracked and told her very bluntly, no BS, that she needs to come pick them up. I am usually not that direct, but I was frustrated.

Now she is acting like I am overreacting, and I guess I am wondering if I am. So AITAH? Should I just give her some grace?
