Do I have to go to Open Days?

Hey guys this might sound stupid but are open days really that important? Like yeah its the uni im going to attend for at least 4 years but i cant attend any of them.

All the unis i have the intention of applying to are at least an hour drive away, i wont be learning to drive/get a car when i turn 17, and my parents definitely wont drive me themselves, trains are stupidly expensive and i can only dream of affording them.

Im thinking of applying to places like Durham, York and Edinburgh but i live in the south where the closest im interested in is Bristol/Bath yet i can barely afford those trains. Is it a bad idea to apply to unis ill mever get to see?
