Tea Time - Got a new connection after a dramatic tug of war. Impressed with the turnaround.
Hey everyone! Just got a new connection. Was fed up with Airtel and Jio's pathetic services. Gave request last Friday evening. Got a call on Monday evening. Got connected to a vendor and they quoted Rs 3k, to which I refused.
Later, on Tuesday, a higher official called and offered me a different vendor and pay 1k for the modem, and I gladly accepted it.
Our street was overlapping with 2 BSNL exchanges and another official got my details on Wednesday morning and initiated the connection under his branch. This info reached the official who first contacted me, and the officers were literally (verbally) fighting over this.
Apparently, the exchanges have targets to achieve and considerable number of people in my city are shifting to BSNL, hence, the tussle!
Anyway, the vendor took great pain to circumvent the ongoing roadworks in my area and lay a new cable. I told my work is getting affected, and they stayed till 9 PM (Thursday) to fix the connection.
Never thought I'd witness this from a government entity. Maybe this is the new Bharat :)
Now, I know this is just the beginning, and I may face disruptions in the future. Funnily, they got a call from a customer complaining that their internet was not working for 2 days while they were fixing at my home. But having faced persistent service issues with Airtel and Jio (sometimes 2 weeks downtime with no resolution), I'm now numb. Moreover, it comforts me that the vendor was cooperative and gave their personal number by assuring to fix issues at the earliest.
Would appreciate any new insights and heads up for this new connection.
