Anybody have experience with the Google Pixel Watch for work/school?

I'm looking to get a watch that would allow me to leave my phone at home as it's just too much of a distraction when I'm at work or school but I'm having a hard time finding a watch that would actually work. I have mint Mobile so the Pixel Watch wouldn't work as a cellular watch but I just need it to be able to connect to Wi-Fi and let me sign into things like Duo Mobile or Workday, my school and work authentication apps.

Does anybody have any experience using the Pixel watch as a standalone device with these apps? Is it even possible to use the watch just connected through Wi-Fi or do you have to have cellular or a Bluetooth phone connection for it to work?
