A Message to the Nations of the World and to Italy (1936)

International Discussion

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia observes with deep concern the ongoing conflict within Italy between monarchist, communist, and fascist factions. A nation of great history and culture now finds itself divided by war, and the continuation of this struggle risks only greater suffering for the Italian people and further instability across the Mediterranean.

In the spirit of peace and practical resolution, the Kingdom proposes that the parties consider a negotiated settlement to end the conflict swiftly and prevent unnecessary destruction.

Under such an arrangement:

•	The communist authorities would assume control over northern Italy and territories currently held by the fascist faction, consolidating those regions under a single administration.

•	The monarchist government would retain its current territories in southern Italy, maintaining the authority of the crown and stability in the south of the peninsula.

•	Overseas territories such as Italian Somaliland may be reorganized as part of a broader settlement to reduce further sources of conflict.

This proposal is offered not as interference, but as a call for an end to the bloodshed. Compromise today may preserve the strength of the Italian people tomorrow.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia calls upon the factions of Italy, and the nations observing this conflict, to prioritize peace, stability, and the future prosperity of the Mediterranean region.

However a vote should be made asking the Italian people what they want, the vote should be administered by Switzerland as they are a neutral nation
