Sometimes you just can’t avoid it.
I hate this so much. I hate when I have to pretend that I’m a grown adult and not the be the child that retreats into the back while the other adult is facing the adult problems for me.
my husband is out of town, and there’s two guys doing construction work at my driveway. I went out yesterday, closed the door to my house, and left them outside for them to work. we had trusted one of them before. but I came back at night and realized there was a big bad stench in the bathroom like someone just used it. I know it wasn’t me. There were a few misplaced things at the door, and realized they moved stuff that was at the front and took them to the back of the house.
I was freaking out. Because I had money and devices lying around, all my rooms unlocked. We don’t have much, and nothing was missing but I still felt vulnerable. I texted my husband and he confronted them. Turns out they forged the entrance with a card because they needed to clear space at the front AND CASUALLY entered my bathroom.
My husband got angry at them, and sorted it out BUT they said they will talk to me and apologize personally. And I know I MUST talk to them and stand my ground, get angry, try not to cry (because I hate confrontation and I cry when I do it) I wish I had my dad’s ability to get angry when it comes to these things. Heck, I wish I could call him and have him take over. I have rehearsed what I’m going to say to them. I recorded myself. I’m 30. I can’t believe I hate fending for myself . I don’t like being a grown up With social anxiety.
