Abit confused

Basically iv been seeing this guy 2 months he said he never wanted anything serious but told me I can go round his house in the summer so he was obviously thinking ahead , I send him a picture casually of me n my ex a few days later he says he’s going back to his ex out of the blue so sudden we’ve not met or spoken for a week I can’t help but think if I never shown him my ex would we still be okay or I’m just being delusional
