Is it normal for drivers to be angry about PIN orders?
So. I voluntarily set my account to have PIN required for my deliveries (apartment) because there have been issues here in the past with drivers who have left my orders in the wrong building. Yesterday there was a Dasher who did the following:
- Tried to get me to meet him at his car
- Messaged asking for the PIN before delivering the food. I replied that the PIN would be provided when he handed off the order (which is also on the delivery instructions)
- When he showed up at the door he was ranting and yelling about how it sucked he had to come to the door for the PIN. He literally walked away down the hallway, turned around, came back and kept shouting. My mom and I literally had to shut the door in his face while he was shouting.
I don't think any of this is normal. I reported the dasher and asked for him not to be matched to any of my orders again. All the same, are PINs something the drivers routinely get annoyed about? I would think it would be embraced because it protects both the dasher and the customer to require a confirmation PIN to hand off the order.
