I am starting to freak out about mucus, should I worry? Or it this usual with IBS?
So this is really TMI but this is almost my only, most disturbing symptom, which is basically: farting wet/mucus..
It has been a Loooong journey for me, it all started after Covid in 2021. I have been to MANY doctors; gastroenterologists, proctologists, multiple bloodworks, stool tests, intolerance, capsule scopes.. They came back clear.
It all started with me eliminating dairy and eggs accordingly to my intolerance test, and taking high dose probiotics for months. Eventually I got somewhat better. However, the mucus thing remained, it was pretty much correlated with my menstrual cycle - worse during ovulation and menstruation. So I even went to more gynos, and an endometriosis specialist to check me, and the Ultrasound he performed was normal (it was especially for endo diagnosis). Before that I went to a doc to perform a capsule scope that looked through my WHOLE digestive system. He said if I have been having symptoms for years, they will see if something is in there - came back clear. Both proctologists said my bottom part is okay, they performed rectoscopes both times to rule out colitis, no inflammation. Bloodwork, no inflammation markes either.
Yet here I am reading horror stories how it turned out to be something very bad, worrying my bum off literally. No significant pain, no fever, my only symptom is the mucus with farts.. Am I going crazy? Should I worry after all these tests? It cost a lot btw..
