79° in my apartment
my building is really old. there’s no thermostats in the units besides this tiny honeywell something. just one in the basement that controls the heat and vents in the apartment that you can open/close. no a/c, just heat.
the heat is usually set at 71 or 72, but i use my Alexa to check and my apartment gets up to 75-79 with my vents CLOSED. it’s horrible to sleep, im worried about my pantry food going bad and my fluffy cat. and i dont want to open my windows because it’s windy and freezing outside. when i do open my windows and get to a comfortable temp, it makes the heating system go extra and turn my apartment into satans asshole again
i dont know what to do. i occasionally adjust the thermostat but I dont know if Im technically allowed to. i think its one thas connected to an app so im worried the landlady will catch me idk.
